COVID-19 Updates (With A Cool Video!)
In response to the ongoing COVID-19 developments, I wanted to reach out to you all to thank you for not panicking! :) We'll get through this, folks!
I am currently taking enhanced common-sense precautions in the piano studio to keep the space clean and safe. I'm using alcohol to sanitize the keyboard and piano body and stool, door handles and other "high touch" areas, and washing my hands for 20-30 seconds once hourly. I have hand sanitizer in stock as well, and am happy to provide it in the studio as needed. Steve is actively sanitizing and cleaning in his guitar studio too.
If you or your child are feeling ill, particularly if you have a fever <100.4ºF, shortness of breath, sore throat or a dry cough, please stay home. I am happy to work with you to offer makeup dates later on in the month once you're feeling better and will do my absolute best to be flexible during this time. We're in this together!
If you are trying to stay home as much as possible, I may be able to offer lessons on the free video conferencing platform, Zoom. Obviously, in-person lessons are best but this can be an option to keep the momentum going. Steve is also offering these as an option. We both encourage you to come to your lessons in person, if you are feeling healthy and have not come in contact with someone with this nasty bug.
Look up "Zoom" on the device that you would like to use and check to see if you need to download the app. I will invite you to the meeting through email just a minute or so before the lesson is scheduled to begin.
If you haven't seen it yet, check out this video of quarantined Italians singing in solidarity to lift their spirits. Music truly has the ability to heal the soul.
